Ovatide^® is a highly active and ready to use injectable solution containing a synthetic peptide. analogous to Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) with = dopamine antagonist. It promotes reproduction in several species of fishes by inducing ovulation and spermeation.

Fishes injected with Ovatide^® produce increased number of eggs through complete spawning with high fertilization and hatching percentage.

How To Use

After selecting sexually mature and healthy female / male fish, find out the weight and calculate the required amount of Ovatide to be injected.
If sedation is required in the case of highly sensitive varieties of fishes, anaesthetize the fish using any recommended agent in usual manner.
Hold the fish firmly and inject the calculated amount of Ovatide solution intramuscularly in the region of caudal peduncle above the lateral line using a 2 ml hypodermic syringe having 0.1 ml graduations fitted with a No. 22 needle.
Draw only required amount of Ovatide from the vial directly through the syringe and expel the trapped air, if any, with the needle pointing upwards before giving injection.

Successfully tested on Catfish at Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) Philippines.
